Sophath Chou Associate Attorney Sophath Chou was born in Cambodia and raised in the United States, mainly in western
Washington. She received a bachelor of the arts at the University of Washington in June 1996 and then graduated from Seattle
University School of Law in May 2004.
Ms. Chou has been
practicing with Carney & Marchi, P.S. since June 2005. Her practice consists of immigration law where she focuses in on
removal (deportation) proceedings, family based visas and asylum cases. She also practices criminal defense where she focuses
on representing defendants in both misdemeanor and felony matters.
She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and is
the current chair of the young lawyers division (YLD) of AILA. She is licensed to practice in Washington State, the Western
and Eastern District Court of Washington, the Washington State Supreme Court, and Immigration courts. Ms. Chou is fluent in
Cambodian.

Yolanda Olivera Paralegal Yolanda Olivera is a paralegal at Carney and Marchi, P.S. She has been with the firm for almost seven years.
She was born and raised in Pasco, Washington. She received her Associates Degree from Seattle Central College and will be
returning to school to work on her Bachelor’s degree. Ms. Olivera is fluent in Spanish.
